Sunday Serving – “inreach”

Church Choir 1Choir

The Bethel-Bethany Choir is led by Music Director Deborah Cincotta, and participates in worship every Sunday from September through May. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Please contact Deborah Cincotta for more information.

Ushers and greeters

Volunteers serve as ushers and greeters before and during worship. Greeters are the first smiling faces that members, friends and visitors see on Sunday morning. Greeters arrive at church 20 minutes before worship, and stand outside the doors leading into the sanctuary. They introduce themselves to visitors and relay information that may be relevant (i.e. Sunday School, restroom locations, coffee hour, etc.).

Ushers participate more directly in worship services. Their responsibilities include maintaining and stocking items in the pews, collating and distributing worship bulletins, collecting offerings, managing items on the altar, assisting the pastor as needed, assisting members as needed and maintaining a comfortable environment within the sanctuary.

Fellowship Time

Fellowship Time is a weekly opportunity for congregation members to socialize immediately following Sunday morning services. We gather in the Fellowship Hall for beverages, light refreshments and the warmth of each others company. Volunteer hosts make coffee and juice, set up the service table, serve the refreshments and clean up the Fellowship Hall afterwards. Bethel-Bethany supplies coffee, juice mix, cups, napkins and serving utensils. Hosts and other members often supply a light snack as well.

A sign-up sheet is posted in the narthex of the church.

Nursery Care

The church nursery is located in a new room off of Fellowship Hall, and is staffed by an adult volunteer during worship services. Age appropriate toys and books are available to children through age four. The volunteer is responsible for the safety and comfort of the children in the nursery. The parent or guardian of the child may not leave the building while his or her child is in the care of the nursery. A nursery care coordinator recruits and organizes volunteers to serve in the nursery during Sunday morning worship.
